Eye Popper

During lunch...

Mami : You see, you see...

Papi : What? *slurp...teh ais*

Mami : All the men's eyes like want to pop out like that.

Papi : Huh? Why? *munch munch mee goreng*

Mami : Everyone's looking at the girl. You see, all the three tables there.

Papi : Which girl?

Mami : Neh, the girl wearing the stripe shirt.

Papi : Beautiful ah?

Mami : Beautiful, you see lar, all the guys stop everything and look only.

Papi : hehehe...

Grave Danger

It's probably the best CSI to date.

The CSI Season 5 2-hours Finale, Grave Danger (dont't click if you haven't watch the show) was directed by Quentin Tarantino of Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction fame. In this episode, we saw one of the CSI team members, Nick Stokes, buried alive, while the other team members raced against time to save him.

I didn't managed to catch the fist 30 mins of the show, but if was gripping till the end, none the less. Even Mami, who's not a big fan of CSI, stayed glued to the TV. But one thing she said really cracked me up.

Mami : Eh? Why the lady's breasts so big already ah?

Papi : Got meh?

Mami : Yalar, last time not that big one. Now, fuiyo!

Papi : LOL!!

I guess as her popularity grows, her breasts have to grow too. hehehe...

Langkawi Trip

Finally.

I was so busy (and sick too) for the last few days. So, got no time to blog and upload our Langkawi trip photos. But I managed to do it this morning. :)

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
It's Yiyi's first flight. She was excited through out the flight, but at the same time sleepy too. She had to wake up at an early 6 am. Thanks to AirAsia for re-scheduling the flight. :(

No visit to Langkawi is complete without a visit to Dataran Lang near Kuah jetty to see the majestic giant sculpture of an eagle (or helang (Malay)) .

We stayed at Mutiara Buray Bay, in the cabannas. During low tide, you could see sharp rocks on the bed of the sea. Not suitable for swimming.

Our resort is just next to Berjaya Langkawi Resort.

One of the facilities we looked forward to was the swimming pool. Yiyi had a great time in the pool and she just refused to come out! That's her Ah-Sok, my brother.

We also went to the newly renovated Underwater World, with a new wing (which houses the rockhopper penguins!) and a 3D cinema. There's also a rainforest 'jungle' in there (photo).

Piranha's wat-its-name cousin.

"Mouse Big Big!!" Yiyi said.
"No, it's a Wombat Capybara" (Thanks to Zbjernak for correcting me)

"Hello! I am Fonnito the Eskimo!"

The penguins.

"Papi, look! Big Fish!!"

We had a great time in Langkawi. The only place we missed is the cable car. It was closed for maintenance. My parents really enjoyed the shopping. They 'sapu' chocolates and liquor, until I had to take out my backup bag. Lucky I brought that with me.

Someone else wanted to go to Langkawi and asked us to arrange. Hmmm... looks like there's gonna be another trip. hehehe...

My name is...

Mami : Yiyi, what is your name?

Yiyi : My name is Fonnito!

Mami : Huh?! *puzzled, look at Papi*

Yiyi : hehehe...

Papi : Yiyi, come here, Papi ask you ah. What is your name?

Yiyi : My name is Fonnito!! *giggle giggle*

Papi Mami : Huh?!! *scratch head*

Papi : Who is Fonnito?

Yiyi : Yiyi!!

We have no idea where that came from. We asked Yiyi who taught her, she said Papi. When I said I didn't teach her that, she said Mami. Aiyo...

And the funny thing is, she said it with a Mexican slang!! LOL!

Crashed!

What a week!! I was computer-less for almost 4 days. Thus no emails and blogs.

I came back from the weekend break and my computer in the office crashed! And coincidentally, another colleague had the same problem as mine, and the same symptom too. Windows just refused to start.

The first thing that came to my mind was it's a virus attack. A worm, maybe. That started a frantic scan of all the computers in the office for viruses. At the same time, I troubleshoot my own PC. But most of my scans turned up negative. No virus or worm, except for a couple of adwares.

And it turned out, my problem and my colleague's were completely unrelated. Meaning, it was not caused by a virus. After 3 days, I found out that my PC crashed was due to an antivirus software. Although I haven't figure out why, but after removing the program, I managed to start my computer.

And I'm still working on my colleague's PC. I think it's hardware related. ?? :)

London Bombing

Last night, when we heard the news, I mentioned to Mami that I knew two bloggers who were planning a trip to London. Eileen and Cherry. We hope they are ok.

I believe there are many others who are in London, mainly because of the summer holiday and because of the graduation month.

It's really sad when these terrorists chose to kill innocent people in the name of religion, in the name of freedom, in the name of peace.

Work

Man, this really sucks.

I've got tons to do, doing the work for two departments, and I still haven't been paid. *sigh* Really no mood to work ler.

But what irks me most is the management is not showing a bit of urgency on this matter. Maybe they don't feel the pinch, maybe they think 'no big deal'. But for lower income group, it's really tough.

Once, someone asked the management in my company (on the matter of owing salary to staff), one manager has this to say:

"Well, we all should have savings for difficult time like this. I can stand for 3 months, no problem!"

FYI, not everybody has savings and not everyone could put aside a certain amount of money for savings every month. Even if they do have savings, it is definitely not to 'finance' the company's operation. Some managers just don't feel the pain of the working level.

Aiyo...sakit...
